Actually, it's not the original idea I had. I just could not read my hand-written notes. So here are two alternative Sangpan parts which might also be easier to play: | /_ _ _/ /_ _ _/ /_ _/_/ /_ _/_/ | Sangpan |: | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | :| (original) | O O O O O O O O | | /_ _ _/ _/_ _/ | Sangpan |: | | | | | | | | :| (simplier) | O O O O | One idea behind the Dun Dun part, and that's why there's no bell on 1, was to express the feeling of 'looking skeptically around' (O___), then get- ting a ring (___/ O___) and finally 'waking up, popping one's head out, looking curiously forward to what's coming' (___O O_/_ O_O_). Oh, and if you wonder who's the tiger, who's the drummer, and who's the rat: The drummer plays the solo part, the rat plays the Dun Dun and the tiger, as tigers always do, jumps around from mainly the Sangpan to the first Djembe and backwards, also occasionally tickling the rat and hugging the drummer. -- Andreas Schamanek http://www.fam.tuwien.ac.at/~schamane/
