Senior Quantitative Researcher

Summary

BlueBalance Capital is seeking a Quantitative Researcher, ideally with 3-5 years of experience in finance (Senior Analysts / Associate / VP equivalent). The role is centred around the development of trade screening tools, in-depth trade analysis in cross-asset derivatives / quantitative strategies, backtesting, development of risk-, analytics- and portfolio management tools. We are looking for someone with prior experience in derivatives (ideally cross asset), either with a structuring, trading, quant research, risk or portfolio management background who is ideally proficient in Python (or with strong skills in other programming languages). A key part of this role is the ability to apply modeling techniques within at least one asset class.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize trade screening tools for portfolio management.
  • Conduct quantitative research to support and enhance trading strategies.
  • In-depth trade analysis and development of analysis- and risk-tools/-models.
  • Apply modeling experience to at least one asset class, contributing to the refinement of trade selection processes.
  • Work collaboratively with portfolio management and trading teams to integrate tool functionality and research insights.
  • Continuously enhance tool capabilities and analytical methods.

Requirements

  • A MSc/PhD in finance, financial engineering, math, computer science or other STEM related field
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a quantitative finance role with exposure to derivatives (ideally cross asset), either with a structuring, trading, quant research, risk or portfolio management background.
  • Proficiency in Python (or strong skills in other programming languages)
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modelling / trade analysis within one or ideally more asset classes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
