Abstract der zugrundeliegenden Arbeit
"A Libor Market Model with Default Risk":
In this paper a discrete-tenor model for default risk is
developed along the lines of the Libor Market Models by
Miltersen / Sandmann / Sonder-mann (1997) and Brace / Gatarek / Musiela
(1997). The effective forward rates and effective forward credit spreads
are modelled as diffusion processes with a lognormal volatility structure,
recovery is modelled as a fraction of the par value of the defaulted
coupon
bond. No-arbitrage dynamics of the forward rates and forward spreads are
derived, as well as closed-form solutions for defaultable
coupon bonds, default swap rates and asset swap rates, and approximate
solutions are given for default swaptions. Furthermore, the implementation
of the model is discussed.

Wie in meiner vorhergehenden eMail angekuendigt, bekommen Sie hiemit die
ausfuehrliche Fassung der Beschreibung aller Neuerungen rund um VFN-L.
In Absprache mit Alfred Lehar (Alfred.Lehar(a)univie.ac.at, VFN-L list-
owner) wird der Vienna Finance Newsletter (VFN-L) nunmehr von mir,
Andreas Schamanek (System-Administrator dort und da, jetzt VFN-L list-
admin), technisch betreut.
Die bisherigen Einstellungen der Mailing List und die zunehmende Zahl
an UCEs (Unsolicited Commercial eMails, auch Spammings genannt) machten
einige Aenderungen notwendig:
Neue Adresse der Mailing List

Die neue Adresse fuer all Ihre Aussendungen und Ankuendigungen

Die alte Adresse (vfn-l(a)ls.univie.ac.at) wird noch (leider nur) kurze
Zeit alle eMails an die neue Adresse weiterleiten. Ich werde mir
erlauben, Absender, die noch die alte Adresse verwenden, darauf
hinzuweisen.
Neuer Administrator und neuer Server

Die Mailing List wurde von der Universitaet Wien an die TU Wien,
Institut fuer Statistik, Abteilung fuer Finanz- und Versicherungs-
mathematik (Prof. Walter Schachermayer) uebersiedelt und wird -
technisch - von dem dortigen Administrator, Andreas Schamanek,
betreut. Gruendungsvater und sog. List-Owner ist nachwievor Dr. Alfred
Lehar.
Die Mailing List kann und wird WWW-basiert verwaltet. Der URL der Liste

Neue Einstellungen, Moderation

Wir haben die folgenden Einstellungen vorgenommen und betrachten die
ersten Monate als eine Testphase. Wenn Sie Anregungen haben, sind Sie
eingeladen, diese dem Administrator mitzuteilen. Die Adresse lautet

Beitraege nur von Subskribierten
Im allgemeinen sind Mailing Listen heutzutage so eingestellt, dasz
nur diejenigen etwas beitragen koennen, die die Beitraege auch erhalten.
Bis zur Umstellung konnte jede und jeder etwas an die Liste schicken,
was zu den vielen UCEs fuehrte. Bei VFN-L ist diese Einstellung derzeit
irrelevant, da die Liste ueberdies moderiert wird.
Moderation
Um sicher gehen zu koennen, dasz moeglichst nur relevante Beitraege
ueber den Vienna Finance Newsletter vertrieben werden (d.h., keine eMails,
in denen nur 'unsubscribe' steht, etc.), wird die Liste _moderiert_.
Kurz, jeder Beitrag wird von den Moderatoren entweder akzeptiert,
begruendet abgelehnt oder geloescht (z.B. im Falle von UCEs). Derzeit
ist nur der List-Administrator als Moderator eingesetzt, in Ausnahme-
faellen kann auch der List-Owner (Dr. Alfred Lehar) als Moderator
eine eMail 'durchlassen' (akzeptieren).
Praktisch aendert sich durch die Moderation nicht viel. Ihre eMails
werden im allgemeinen nur etwa bis zu 1 Tag brauchen, bis sie tatsaech-
lich an alle Subskribierten verschickt werden. Ich bitte Sie, dies zu
beruecksichtigen.

Im Zuge des Transfers der Mailing List habe ich auch - so gut es ging -

Derzeit sind ca. 240 Personen auf VFN-L eingetragen. Die meisten
verstehen Deutsch, einige vermutlich nicht. Wir haben uns deshalb darauf
geeinigt, Deutsch als die erste Sprache des VFN-L vorzuschlagen. Sie
sind jedoch herzlichst dazu eingeladen, Ihre Ankuendigungen in Englisch
zu verfassen oder - wie auch in meinen administrativen eMails - einen
kurzen englischen Abstract anzuhaengen.

I believe this note to be of interest to us and I hope it will be well
received.
This October I will be heading up the Human Resource Management and
Organizational Behavior (HRMOB) conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It will be held at the downtown Hilton Charlotte & Towers on October
19-22, 2000. The conference theme is ^ÓHuman Resources and Organizational
Management in the Global Digital Economy.
The very topics we discuss, exchange and recommend each day as member
subscribers on this list are quite human resource management and
organizational behavior centered. These and related interdisciplinary
topics are extremely relevant to future applications in our global
economy. We won^Òt be able to escape them. And I invite you to present
your interest in paper, workshop or other form at this meeting.
In conference we acquire visibility for our work and ideas, undergo
scholarship sharing and exchanges, interact among our colleagues and
acquire support for our professional efforts; and lots of guidance when
new ways take precedence. Certainly an excellent and credible
organization to attend, meet others of like interests, present a paper
or research, and have it documented through full publication in a
quality and respected proceedings volume. Such an exposure would
definitely enlighten our profession and aid in practical applications as
